Règlement du Test Camp
Finish Line Media · Finish Line Media (finishlinemedia.com)
Version in force since 18 October 2026
Article 1. Organiser and purpose
The Test Camp is a multi-brand running shoe test organised by Finish Line Media, a French simplified joint-stock company (société par actions simplifiée) with a share capital of 1,000 euros, registered with the Lyon Trade and Companies Register under number 998 982 763, whose registered office is located at 20 rue Lortet, 69007 Lyon, France ("FLM"). It comprises a road edition and a trail edition, whose dates, location and tested models are announced for each edition on 220bpm.com and on FLM's media (the "Edition Conditions").
Brands whose models are tested contribute to the funding of the event. They have no influence on the protocol, ratings, rankings or the awarding of awards.
These rules apply to the selected testers (the "Testers") and, for article 15, to participants in the open day.
Article 2. Free and voluntary participation
Taking part in the Test Camp is a voluntary, unpaid recreational sporting activity. It constitutes neither employment nor a provision of services, and is not remunerated. Testers are under no obligation of result. They may give up all or part of the programme at any time, without having to give reasons, by informing the FLM team.
The test protocol described in article 5 is the framework of the event, which Testers freely accept by signing up.
Article 3. Conditions of participation
The Test Camp is open to adults able to run regularly on road or trail depending on the edition. By applying, Testers certify that they are in good physical condition and have no known contraindication to running. No health data is requested.
In principle, employees, ambassadors or partners of a brand whose models are tested at the edition, or of a running shoe retailer, may not be Testers. FLM may nevertheless, at its sole discretion, select such a candidate, on three conditions: they sign a neutrality commitment; their connection with the brand or retailer is indicated with their published reviews; and they do not rate the models of the brand to which they are connected, or their ratings of those models are not taken into account in the results.
Where a Tester is an employee of FLM or Finishers SAS, their participation may form part of their assignments, depending on their employment contract. Where a Tester is a content creator bound to FLM by a specific contract, that contract prevails over these rules as regards their publications and consideration.
Article 4. Application and selection
Applications are submitted on 220bpm.com, in accordance with the procedure and timetable set out in the Edition Conditions.
FLM selects the Testers at its sole discretion, seeking in particular to bring together a variety of profiles in terms of level, type of running, foot strike and build. It is not required to give reasons for its choices. Selected Testers are informed by e-mail and confirm their participation within the time indicated. Failing this, their place may be given to another candidate.
Article 5. Programme and protocol
Each model is assessed according to a common three-stage protocol, described in the Edition Conditions: a blind trial, without knowing the brand, model or price; an open static assessment; and a running test on a set loop, which produces the published overall rating.
Testers follow the FLM team's instructions regarding the conduct of the tests and safety. FLM may adapt the programme, schedules and routes, in particular for weather or safety reasons.
Article 6. Expenses covered
FLM covers Testers' living expenses during the edition, under the conditions set out in the invitation: accommodation, meals and, where applicable, travel. Other expenses remain the Tester's responsibility.
Article 7. Allocation of shoes
At the end of the edition, each Tester receives an allocation of pairs of shoes, up to a maximum of three pairs. The number of pairs is the same for all Testers of a given edition and is announced to them before it begins. The allocation depends neither on the ratings given, nor on the content of reviews, nor on the Tester's performance. Only an exclusion under article 11 may deprive a Tester of it.
Clothing and equipment provided during the edition remain the Testers' property, unless otherwise stated. These benefits in kind fall under each Tester's own tax situation.
Article 8. Independence of reviews
Each Tester is entirely free in their ratings and opinions. Neither FLM nor the brands approve them, and no positive review is expected. Ratings and comments are published on 220bpm.com and on FLM's media, with mention of the Test Camp, and may be shared with the participating brands in the form of summaries and verbatim quotes.
Article 9. Safety and liability
Testers take part at their own risk. They comply with safety instructions, the highway code and the rules governing the natural areas crossed. FLM holds civil liability insurance as organiser. Testers are advised to have individual accident insurance covering running, for example through a sports licence.
FLM is not responsible for the loss, theft or damage of Testers' personal belongings. In the event of an incident, the FLM team may call the emergency services.
Article 10. Image, voice and content
The Test Camp is extensively photographed and filmed. Testers authorise FLM, free of charge, to photograph, film and record them during the edition, and to reproduce, represent, adapt and distribute their image, voice, first name and statements, worldwide and for a period of ten years from the edition, on any medium, in particular on the websites, newsletters and social media of FLM and Finishers SAS.
They authorise FLM to grant the same rights to the participating brands, for their own communication, including advertising, on their websites, social media and printed materials. Images may not be used in a way that harms the Tester's dignity or reputation, nor associated with a product competing with the one they tested. The Tester's surname is never published without their consent. At the end of this period, content published during it may remain online and in archives, without any new use.
The Tester's ratings, comments and photos are also subject to the licence provided for in article 4 of the 220bpm.com terms of use.
Article 11. Conduct and exclusion
Testers behave respectfully towards other participants, the team and partners. FLM may, at any time, exclude a Tester who seriously breaches these rules, endangers their own safety or that of others, or disrupts the smooth running of the event. Exclusion entails the loss of the allocation of shoes and the end of the expenses covered.
Article 12. Withdrawal
A Tester who is unable to take part informs FLM as soon as possible. FLM may then offer their place to another candidate. A late and unjustified withdrawal may lead FLM not to select their application for future editions.
Article 13. Change or cancellation of the edition
FLM may postpone, change or cancel an edition, in particular in the event of force majeure, dangerous weather conditions or an insufficient number of participating brands. It informs the Testers as soon as possible. Travel expenses incurred by a Tester in accordance with FLM's instructions are then reimbursed on presentation of receipts. No other compensation is due.
Article 14. Personal data
Candidates' and Testers' data is processed by FLM to organise the Test Camp, in accordance with the 220bpm.com privacy policy. Profile data used for the protocol, such as shoe size, height and weight, is never published. Images and recordings are kept for the period provided for in article 10, then only in archives for content already published.
Article 15. Open day
Where an open day is organised, it is open to the public under the announced conditions, where applicable upon registration. Visitors try on shoes at their own risk and following the team's instructions. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The day is photographed and filmed, as indicated on site. Visitors who do not wish to be filmed inform the team. General shots may be distributed by FLM and the brands present. A person filmed individually, for example during an interview, signs a specific authorisation. No allocation of shoes is provided, except for a competition announced on site, subject to FLM's general competition rules.
Article 16. Governing law
These rules are governed by French law. Complaints are sent to contact@220bpm.com. Failing an amicable settlement, the dispute is brought before the competent court under ordinary rules. In the event of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
