Prize competition rules
Finishers SAS · Finishers (finishers.com)
Version in force since 26 October 2026
Article 1. Organiser
The prize competitions governed by these rules are organised by Finishers, a French simplified joint-stock company (société par actions simplifiée) with a share capital of 32,624.90 euros, registered with the Lyon Trade and Companies Register under number 891 456 758, whose registered office is at 20 rue Lortet, 69007 Lyon, France ("Finishers"), publisher of the finishers.com website and its applications.
A competition may be organised in partnership with a brand or an event organiser (the "Partner"), named in the specific conditions of the competition, including where it is published jointly on the accounts of Finishers and the Partner. Unless otherwise stated in those specific conditions, Finishers remains the sole organiser of the competition.
Article 2. Scope
These general rules apply to all prize competitions organised by Finishers, on its French-language or international social media accounts, on finishers.com and its applications, in its newsletters, on a dedicated web page or by means of a form at an event. Each competition is announced with specific conditions, which may be limited to a description of the prize. In the event of any conflict, the specific conditions prevail over these rules. On any point they do not specify, the following rules apply by default:
- the competition starts when it is published and ends on the date indicated or, failing that, seven days after publication, at 11:59 pm Paris time;
- to enter, participants must follow Finishers' account and, where applicable, the Partner's account, like the competition post and comment on it;
- the entry and delivery area is mainland France for competitions published on Finishers' French-language media, and all European Union countries, Switzerland, Norway and the United Kingdom for those published on its international media, in particular the @finishers Instagram account, subject to the exclusions set out in Article 4;
- each prize described is awarded to one winner;
- prizes are delivered by Finishers;
- the indicative value of prizes is provided on request.
Competitions organised by Finish Line Media on its media are governed by its own rules, published on legal.finishers.com.
Article 3. Platforms
Competitions organised on Instagram, Facebook or any other platform are not organised, sponsored or administered by those platforms or their publishers, in particular Meta Platforms, which cannot be held liable for how they are run. Participants release these platforms from any liability in this respect. Data provided in connection with a competition is provided to Finishers and not to those platforms.
Article 4. Eligibility
Unless otherwise stated in the specific conditions, the competition is open to any natural person of full age who has a personal account on the platform concerned, a Finishers account or a valid e-mail address, and who resides in the entry area.
Unless otherwise stated in the specific conditions, residents of Italy are excluded from entry. Finishers may also exclude any country whose regulations prohibit prize competitions or subject them to prior formalities or specific restrictions. Each participant is responsible for complying with the regulations of their country of residence. Employees and staff of Finishers, Finish Line Media and the Partner may interact with the competition posts but may not be designated as winners. If one of them is drawn, another winner is designated (Article 7).
Entries from minors are not taken into account, unless the specific conditions open the competition to minors, who must then have obtained the authorisation of their legal representative. Before awarding a prize, Finishers may ask any winner for proof of identity, age, residence or, where applicable, parental authorisation. A winner who does not meet the age requirement, or who does not provide proof within the time limit indicated, loses the benefit of the prize (Article 7).
Where a prize is subject to an age requirement or other conditions, in particular a race bib, only participants who meet those conditions may be awarded it (Article 8).
Only one entry per person is allowed, whatever the number of accounts or addresses used, unless otherwise stated in the specific conditions.
Article 5. Free entry
Unless otherwise stated in the specific conditions, entry is free and no purchase is necessary. Where a competition is reserved for people who have made a purchase or registration on Finishers, the specific conditions say so and state the period and the purchases concerned. Entry is never conditional on subscribing to a newsletter or agreeing to receive commercial offers, which remains optional and is subject to separate consent.
A Partner's offers that are conditional on purchasing or subscribing to one of its products or services, in particular a bonus, a refund or a welcome benefit, are not competitions governed by these rules. They are governed by the Partner's conditions, and the Partner is solely responsible for them.
Article 6. How to enter
The mechanic of each competition is described in its specific conditions: for example following an account, liking a post, commenting on it by tagging a friend, filling in a form, or taking on a sports challenge whose result is verified as indicated. Only entries that comply with this mechanic, made during the competition period and from a public account or a valid address, are taken into account. Participants must still meet the conditions of the competition when the winners are designated, in particular still be following the accounts concerned. A comment deleted before the draw is not taken into account. Where entry is made from a Finishers account or the Finishers app, the account information is used for the entry and the delivery of the prize.
Finishers may exclude, without notice, any fraudulent entry or entry contrary to these rules, in particular the use of multiple accounts, fake accounts, bots or any automated process, the declaration of inaccurate sports results, and insulting, discriminatory or unlawful comments.
Article 7. Designation and notification of winners
Unless otherwise stated in the specific conditions, winners are designated by a random draw among valid entries, on the date indicated in the specific conditions or, failing that, within a reasonable time after the end of the competition. The draw may also designate alternates. Finishers keeps a record of the draw.
Winners are notified by private message sent from Finishers' official account, or by e-mail. Their username may be announced publicly, in a comment or a story.
Finishers never asks a winner to pay fees, provide bank details or click on an external link to receive their prize, except where the prize consists of a payment of money made by Finishers or the Partner, in which case only the strictly necessary details are requested, through an official channel. Any other message of this kind from an account imitating Finishers' account is fraudulent.
The winner has the time limit indicated in the message or, failing that, 7 days to reply and provide complete and accurate information. Failing this, they lose the benefit of the prize. Where a winner loses the benefit of their prize, for whatever reason, Finishers may, at its option, award it to an alternate, hold a new draw among valid entries or keep the prize.
Article 8. Prizes
Prizes are described in the specific conditions of each competition. They are personal, may not be exchanged, transferred or converted into cash, and do not give rise to any compensation if refused. Their value is determined on the date the specific conditions are drafted. Finishers may replace a prize that has become unavailable with a prize of equivalent value.
Unless otherwise stated in the specific conditions, prizes are sent by Finishers to the address provided by the winner, provided that it is located in the delivery area set out in those conditions or, failing that, in the entry area (Article 2). Finishers may agree, without being obliged to do so, to deliver to another country. Any customs duties and local taxes are then borne by the winner. A winner who cannot provide an address in the delivery area loses the benefit of the prize (Article 7). A prize returned to Finishers, in particular due to an incorrect address or an uncollected parcel, is permanently lost to the winner. Where a prize is supplied, delivered or paid directly by the Partner, the Partner is solely responsible for it, in particular for its compliance, delivery and warranty.
Finishers prizes. Prizes may in particular consist of Finishers products and merchandise, promotional codes or credits usable on finishers.com, the refund of a registration purchased on Finishers, race bibs, invitations to events organised by Finishers or experiences. Unless otherwise stated in the specific conditions:
- promotional codes and credits may only be used on finishers.com, during the period indicated, and may not be combined, refunded or converted into cash. Their use is subject to Finishers' terms and conditions of sale for participants;
- the refund of a registration covers its price, excluding options and fees, and is made to the means of payment used for the purchase;
- invitations and experiences are personal, valid on the dates set by Finishers, and only include what the specific conditions describe. Travel, accommodation and travel document costs are borne by the winner. A winner who cannot attend on the scheduled dates loses the benefit of the prize.
Race bib prizes. Where the prize is a registration for a sports event, the winner must meet all the conditions set by the event rules, in particular those relating to age, medical certificate, licence or Parcours Prévention Santé, and complete their registration within the time limit indicated by Finishers. Failing this, they lose the benefit of the prize. The bib only covers the registration: travel, accommodation and any other costs are borne by the winner. The bib may only be transferred to a third party if the event organiser allows it. The winner takes part in the event at their own risk. Where the bib is sold by Finishers, it is awarded under the conditions of its terms and conditions of sale for participants. In the event of cancellation or postponement of the event, the rules set by its organiser apply, without any compensation from Finishers.
Article 9. Personal data
Finishers is the controller of the personal data processed in connection with the competitions. It processes participants' usernames and comments, the e-mail address and name entered in a form or held in the Finishers account used to enter, the sports results declared or verified where the mechanic so provides, and, for winners, the contact details needed to deliver the prize. For a bib, this means the information required by the event organiser for registration.
This data is processed to run the competition, designate the winners, deliver the prizes and keep evidence that the competition was properly conducted, on the basis of the performance of these rules. It is only disclosed to the Finishers staff in charge of the competition, to its technical providers and, for winners only, to the Partner or the event organiser where necessary to deliver the prize.
The data of participants who do not win is deleted no later than three months after the end of the competition, except for the list of participants included in the draw certificate, which is kept for one year as evidence. Winners' data is kept until the prize is delivered, then for one year as evidence.
Subscribing to a Finishers newsletter, or agreeing to be contacted by the Partner, is never a condition of entry. It is based on separate consent, given by ticking an unticked box, which may only be given alone from the age of 15, and may be withdrawn at any time.
Each participant has a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection regarding their data, which they may exercise at privacy@finishers.com. A request for erasure before the end of the competition amounts to withdrawing from it. Participants may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority. Finishers' privacy policy provides further details.
Article 10. Image and publication of winners
By entering, winners agree that their username may be published to announce the results. Any other use of their image, in particular a photo with their prize, requires their prior express consent.
Article 11. Liability
Finishers cannot be held liable for malfunctions of platforms, the internet or postal services, for the loss or damage of a prize in transit, for defects in a prize, which fall under the warranty of its manufacturer or the Partner, for the Partner's failure to perform its own commitments, for the cancellation, postponement or modification of a sports event, or for damage resulting from the use of a prize or from taking part in an event or sports challenge. It is only liable for its own faults.
Article 12. Modification and cancellation
Finishers may extend, shorten, modify or cancel a competition in the event of force majeure, fraud, technical failure, withdrawal of the Partner or any other circumstance beyond its control, without incurring any liability. Participants are informed through the same channel as the competition announcement. Any situation not provided for in these rules or in the specific conditions is decided by Finishers, in keeping with the spirit of the competition.
Article 13. Access to the rules
These general rules may be consulted free of charge on legal.finishers.com. The specific conditions of each competition are published with the competition announcement. A copy may be obtained free of charge on request to contact@finishers.com.
Article 14. Governing law and complaints
These rules are governed by French law. Any complaint must be sent in writing to Finishers, where possible within one month of the end of the competition concerned, so that it can be investigated. Failing an amicable settlement, the dispute is brought before the competent court under ordinary rules. In the event of translation, the French version prevails.
